CityCast™ Platform Overview

CityCast™ is a real-time city intelligence dashboard that provides residents, business owners, and community leaders with a clear, continuously updated view of what is happening in their city. Rather than functioning as a traditional news site that publishes isolated articles, CityCast brings together multiple streams of local information and organizes them into a single, easy-to-read platform.

The system operates as a “single pane of glass” for city activity, combining civic updates, infrastructure signals, community events, economic developments, and lifestyle information in one place. The goal is to enable someone to quickly understand the current state of their city—what is happening now, what may affect them today, and what opportunities or disruptions may be emerging.

CityCast is built from a collection of modular components known as Cast Platforms, each focused on a specific category of information. These include weather, transportation, local business activity, government decisions, development projects, public safety alerts, community events, and environmental conditions. Each Cast platform is delivered through a dedicated widget that can update automatically or be curated by editors.

By organizing information into these specialized modules, CityCast allows the platform to expand over time while maintaining a consistent interface. New Cast modules can be added as additional signals become relevant to residents, businesses, or civic leaders.

The platform is designed to operate within the broader SignalCast Network™, which serves as the underlying infrastructure for multiple Cast-based dashboards. While CityCast focuses on local intelligence for individual communities such as Vancouver, Delta, or Langley, the same architecture can also support other specialized platforms covering topics such as markets, technology, the environment, or innovation.

In practice, CityCast becomes a daily reference tool—a live dashboard that residents can open to see weather conditions, traffic disruptions, major civic developments, business openings, nearby events, and other signals shaping their community. Over time, the system evolves into a continuously updating picture of the city itself.
