From street-level activations to airport upgrades, here's everything British Columbians need to know — and do — before the world arrives.
The clock is ticking — and Vancouver is ready to make every second count. With exactly 100 days until the FIFA World Cup 2026™ kicks off, the City's Host Committee has officially launched a sweeping series of community and digital activations designed to bring the tournament spirit home to British Columbians right now, long before the first whistle blows at BC Place.
Get Involved: Community Activations Starting Now
The Host Committee is wasting no time getting fans engaged, with four flagship initiatives launching immediately:
• 100 in the Wild — Show your creativity on social media by capturing the number "100" in any imaginative way: bake it, stack it, draw it, wear it, or find it in the wild. Post your creation and tag @FWC26Vancouver for the chance to be featured on official channels.
• Dear Soccer Campaign — A deeply personal, fan-led series launching today on social media. Real letters and short video messages from players, coaches, volunteers, and families pay tribute to soccer's role in B.C. lives. Watch, share, and add your own voice to the conversation.
• Street Squad Takeovers — Keep an eye out at select transit hubs across Vancouver, where Street Squads will be popping up to run quick quizzes, hand out giveaways, and share the latest on World Cup activities. A fun, unexpected way to catch the buzz on your daily commute.
• Official Tournament Poster Debut — The final piece of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ poster collection has arrived, completing the set that includes 16 Official Host City Posters released last year. A collector's milestone for any fan.
Mark Your Calendar: What's Coming in the Next 99 Days
The Host Committee wants to ensure no British Columbian misses out on the action. Here's what to watch for:
• FIFA Fan Festival™ Vancouver details — including match viewings and the performance lineup — are dropping later this month. Stay tuned.
• FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola — Tickets are now available. Don't miss your chance to get up close with the most coveted trophy in sport.
• City Dressing Goes Up — Watch downtown Vancouver transform as signage and installations appear across the city. The first installation is already up at the former Hudson's Bay building — grab a selfie.
• Level the Field — Donate at www.levelthefield.ca for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be one of 52 people to attend a World Cup match at BC Place, while supporting amateur sport accessibility across the province.
Getting Around: TransLink's Game Plan
Transit will be the smartest way to get to the action. TransLink is ramping up service across buses, SkyTrain, SeaBus, and West Coast Express throughout the tournament, with extra staff deployed at key stations. With road closures and controlled zones near BC Place and the FIFA Fan Festival™ site, fans are strongly encouraged to leave the car at home.
One important note: on match days, use Main Street–Science World Station as your arrival point. Pedestrian access to BC Place from other SkyTrain stations will be restricted due to crowd-control routing.
The Gateway is Ready: YVR Prepares for the World
Vancouver International Airport is gearing up to welcome hundreds of thousands of fans, players, and officials from around the globe. As the gateway to one of 16 host cities, YVR offers direct connections to 13 of those cities across North America — making it a critical hub in the tournament network.
The airport has implemented a 24/7 FIFA Coordination Desk, multilingual support in 170 languages, dedicated coordination teams, and enhanced in-terminal experiences to ensure every arriving fan's first impression of Vancouver is an unforgettable one.
The world is coming to Vancouver. The question is: are you ready?
