The countdown to the FIFA World Cup 2026™ has officially begun, and while Vancouver is proud to be a Host City, the magic of the tournament is stretching far beyond BC Place. FIFA recently unveiled the route for Canada Celebrates, an ambitious, first-of-its-kind program designed to bring the energy of the world’s biggest sporting event to every corner of the country.

Bringing the Game to Your Doorstep

Spanning from coast to coast to coast, the tour will make 38 stops across 34 communities. Whether you are in the heart of Vancouver or visiting family in Kamloops or Whitehorse, the action is never far away. In fact, FIFA organizers confirmed that these celebrations will be located within a two-hour drive for more than 75% of Canadian residents.

The festivities kick off with pre-tournament stops on June 1 and June 5, before the main tour runs concurrently with the World Cup from June 11 to July 19. Each stop promises a vibrant festival atmosphere, featuring:

  • Live match viewings on massive screens.
  • Interactive football-themed activations.
  • Live music and local cultural programming.
  • Appearances by the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola.

A Legacy Beyond the Pitch

This initiative is a massive collaboration between the Government of Canada and major partners like Coca-Cola, Kia, and Bell Media. The goal is to ensure that even those without a stadium ticket can feel the "pride and passion" of the beautiful game.

Vittorio Montagliani, FIFA Vice-President and Concacaf President, noted that the tour is about more than just a single summer. "This FIFA World Cup will create a legacy for football in this country—inspiring the next generation and growing the game for years to come," Montagliani stated.

How to Join the Celebration

While specific programming details for individual cities will be released in the coming weeks, excitement is already reaching a fever pitch. Fans looking to secure their place at the matches in Vancouver or Toronto should keep a close eye on official channels.
